Children's Online Privacy (COPPA) Posture
Effective date: 2026-05-29 Owner: Zanason (operator of zanason.com)
This page describes Zanason's posture regarding children's privacy under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, 15 U.S.C. §6501 et seq. ("COPPA"), and its implementing regulations at 16 C.F.R. Part 312.
Our services are not directed to children
Zanason offers information and intake for adult medical-weight-management services. Our services are intended for adults aged 18 or older. They are not directed to children under the age of 13, nor are they intended for users under 18.
We do not market to children, do not include child-directed content, and do not use child-directed third-party services on the Site.
Age requirement
Use of any Zanason clinical service requires that you be at least 18 years old. Our intake questionnaire is designed for adults and includes self-attestation of adult status before any clinical handoff occurs.
We are also implementing an explicit age-confirmation step during intake before any data is forwarded to our clinical partner. If you indicate that you are under 18, we will not forward your information for clinical evaluation.
If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13
If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will:
- Delete that information promptly from our systems.
- Cease any further collection associated with that user.
- Not transfer any such information to our clinical partner or any other third party.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child under 13 has provided personal information to Zanason, please contact us immediately at admin@zanason.com with the subject line "COPPA — Child Information", and we will delete the information within five business days of confirming the request.
Information we ask of all users during intake
Our intake questionnaire collects information that may include height, weight, state of residence, first name, and email address. We use this information to:
- Determine eligibility for our adult medical-weight-management program.
- Communicate with you about your inquiry.
- Forward your information, with your consent, to our clinical partner for evaluation.
Because our service is for adults, we treat this information with the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use any of this information to target advertising to anyone.
Third-party services
The third-party services we use on the Site (analytics, error monitoring, transactional email) are general-audience services and not directed at children. We do not use any service that knowingly collects personal information from children under 13.
